My rock-a-by babies

See my big baby and small baby here....they love this new rocking chair quite a bit. New item in the house, but a pre-loved one. First saw it in my MIL's house, my SIL bought it for her baby. Hers is also a pre-loved one, so that's how I've got the idea to get 1 for my gals as well. I find it a bit silly to get a brand new one coz it'll cost me a bomb. Fisher Price brand ma....sure mahal gile neh. Original price is RM369 and I've got mine from a blogshop which sells branded pre-loved items at RM89 inclusive shipping. I tell ya, this item is  really selling like hot cake among the pre-loved stuffs! I've browsed thru many blogshop which sells pre-loved branded stuff, and all sold out. Don't know why my fingers were itchy that time, I text to this particular seller just to ask whether she still have it  or not. Jeng jeng jeng!! She said YES and would upload the picture onto her blog shortly. Lucky me lah.  It is still in very good condition (no scratches at all on the metal legs of the rocking chair) and not really worn out (the kain part) so I'll say it's a steal! By right it comes with a toys bar but I guess the owner misplaced it so no toys bar for YY. Not important at all so I don't mind. This baby rocker supports up to 18kg child's weight. My big baby who's now 3.5yo is only weighing at 11kg, so she has a loooooong way to go with it =)

It has 2 reclining position. The one in the below picture is the lowest position which is just nice for baby to nap on it. Push 1 level up will be best for feeding. It also vibrates, a very mild vibration only lah, to sooth baby. Can see the white box at the bottom of the rocker? It's battery operated but I never used this function.

Most of the time YY will be using it. I've already told QQ upfront that she needs to share it with her lil mei mei, so no rebut rebut action. So far, QQ is kind enough to let YY use it more often. YY's favorite past time on this rocking chair is to enjoy her fingers and sometimes half of her fist inside her mouth!! Yummy....

It's nice...trust me.

Mini taukeh soh

I'm so happy to have bought, or rather rebut this set of kitchen (brand is Lil Chef) from a blogshop seller. Yes! It's a 2nd hand item and is selling like hot cake! I've missed out a few time, not fast enough to rebut it with other buyers. Hahahaha. Who would have thought of such thing is so laku leh. Though 2nd hand, it is still in good condition. Only the top rack color has faded a bit (it's red and memang red color can fade easily). In total, I've paid RM120 inclusive of shipping fee. Those new set from Mothercare or Toy's R Us will cost me a bomb - RM350 to RM450/set without accessories!! Seller used KTM service as shipment method. I've never heard before leh.

It has these features:
  • build in oven
  • build in cabinet (the other side of the kitchen)
  • stove - both gas stove and induction cooker style! don't play play :P
  • a sink with water tap (Smellybutt's top favorite!)

I first saw this kind of kitchen set from Teacher Nel's school. It is so cute and the first time Smellybutt saw it, she was very in love with it as well. I have informed my parents about this item, so they need to keep an eye on the postman. I told them that once the parcel has arrived, try not to open it first as I will assemble it when I'm back home. But I didn't know that it came without a box. The seller just wrapped the whole set with cling wrap O_O Like that also can....geng!

So...when I reached home, the bottom part of the kitchen already been unwrapped. Smellybutt was so eager to play with it, so excited with it!

Here's the happy taukeh soh, with her kitchen.

DunDun bought this mini teapot for her from the morning market quite some time ago. It is very cute actually, and now it matches the kitchen so well. We can't touch it, otherwise there will be a stern warning from taukeh soh, "Don't Touch!!".

Almost every night she will "hoi dong", start her business with our orderings - Popo wanted a cup of Latte, DunDun wanted a cup of kopi-o and a cup of barley ice for myself. But most of the time, we never get our drinks. Because half way doing it, all of the sudden she'll ask us to brush teeth, gargle and then wash our hands in the sink!!! Her favorite activity is wash hand and play the water tap. Wherever we go for our meal, her eyes will wonder around looking for a sink and water tap. When she found it, she will demand us to carry her to the sink and wash her hand. But when we wanted her to wash her hand after playing with her stuff, she refused. Pengsan or not....

See, she looks so dedicated to her job!

It came with a few pieces of masak masak tools only. So majority of the cooking tools are her own collection. There are so many other types of accessories for the kitchen set. Once I saw a big box from Toys' R Us which contained lots of mini plastic canned food, juice bottles, oyster sauce lah, etc etc. Not cheap you know, that 40 over pieces of accessories costs about RM50++ if not mistaken.

No regret of buying this kitchen set for her. It is nice and fun to interact with her this way. She gets to learn and enhance her fine motor skill, vocab and politeness whereas we get entertainment from her :P

Once she gets bored with this kitchen and really 100% ditch it aside, I can sell it out again =)

New masak masak

Dun Dun bought her these new masak masak toys for Smellybutt. Big pot small pot, big stove small stove, forks and spoons, cups and plates. Macam-macam ada.

That's the proud lil Iron Chef with her cooking tools lah.

Sometimes api kuat sangat...too glaring so Iron Chef gotto put on her stylish Lydia Sum's glasses. Yellow pulak tu!!

Ada gaya ooo....

See how she spreads her masak-masak tools on these 2 tables. Every night, without fail...we have to carry her 'work station' from the other end to the sofa.

When fengshui tak baik, she'll change her sitting position to the comfy sofa instead.

Normally we'll make our order of 1 cup of coffee for Popo, 1 cup of barley ice for mama. She even told us "very tasty u know" while preparing the drinks for us!! We do have lots of fun pretending to be her customer. One of the best quote from her when Popo ordered a cup of Latte.

Popo : QQ, I want a cup of Latte.
QQ : (stared at her blankly! In her heart she might be saying what the hell is Latte??)
Popo : Latte is like coffee also
QQ : (smiled)....(mumbled this softly) "Hei yao chi lei ar...want Lat teh".
LOL!!

Chop chop chop

Bought this set from the recent Parenthood Fair at Mid Valley. Smellybutt likes it a lot. In fact, many us (Aunty Dory, my SIL) and myself love this toy. There's velcro sticking the pieces together. The chopping sound really sounds so real due to the velcro...as if you are chopping celery ^_^

It comes with a nice wooden tray which includes these :
A wooden knife
A wooden chopping board
Watermelon, cucumber, sosage, tomato, white bread, bun and lemon.

I'm still keeping the white bread and lemon. I only want to show it to her 1 by 1, so that she won't get bored with all of them after a few play. She knows how to serve the fruits and bun. She'll chop them into pieces and place 1 piece on the small masak masak plastic plate and serve to us. In the beginning, she pretends to eat it, then slowly she put it into her mouth. I told that she should hold if far away from mouth as this is just a toy, not edible. From then onwards, after serving to my mom, she'll tell her "Popo, hold far far to eat. Not hold near near keh". Hehehehe.

Nowadays, I will try to look for educational toys for Smellybutt, so that she can have fun and get to learn the right thing at the same time. So what are the benefits of this set of pretend play wooden toys?

Fine Motor

Creative

Social

Develop the senses

I can tell that Smellybutt really master all the above skills even before she owns this set of wooden toys. Now even better with it, to enhance her skill 1 step further. Am really happy with it and worth spending on this too. Retail price is RM49.90 but I got it cheaper during the Parenthood Fair, at RM45.00

Recently Enfakids is giving away this type of toy for FREE on each pack of their milk powder. My superior has bought 5 packs because there are 5 types of toy available :) She said to me, " being a kiasu mom, I grab 5 packs of milk powder just to collect the 5 different types of toy they have". Hahahaha. Come to think of it, that is not so kiasu lah. Your kid will still drink the milk what, so it is not a waste to buy all 5 at 1 go.

Home made play dough, I'm gonna try it soon

As I was blog hopping, I've stumbled upon this super mom blogger who has shared with everyone about the recipe for a home made play dough. It was awesome lah! I wanted to get some play dough for my lil Smellybutt too, but each time I look at them, I just couldn't stop thinking having them in her tummy. Even though it says non toxic and safe for children. Sure boh? My lil alam flora just love to pick things up from the floor and chucked it into her dustbin mouth! Apatah lagi the colorful play dough, right? If you are keen to try it out, check out the recipe here, or here for more recipes (cooked and non cooked type) from the mat salleh.

entirely edible play dough for your lil one!

Wait a minute! If you are lazy like me, and still want to make your own play dough which doesn't require cooking, then this would be a better choice for all the lazy bum :D I just googled it and get this marvelous non cooking recipe. Do share with me once you have try it out ya!

Here's the lazy bum recipe :
3cups flour
1/3 cup salt
2tbsp oil (veg)
1cup water
7 drops food coloring

1) Mix dry ingredients with oil
2) Add food coloring to water and mix together.
3) Add water to flour/salt/oil mixture slowly ~ about 1/4 cup at a time and mix together with a spoon.
4) Once you've added all the water, knead the dough with your hands

I guess Smellybutt would love to play with it.
Will shop for the ingredients and get started soon!

Picnic@theBangalow : A happy day for us

It was a great day at Picnic@theBangalow last Sunday. The crowd was not as big as I've expected. But it's Ok lah, still a fun day though. Here's Mini B Shoppe, a mini shop for the day. Small crowd and yet still can make some sales. Almost can cover the rental fee. Hehe, not bad! :D

A simple hand made poster :D

Smellybutt enjoyed the day very much. She was so happy walking around the place, playing all sorts of toys available at a special room for the kids. There was a tall chinese girl in the same room, playing with her younger sister. She saw Smellybutt and then started to pinch her cheeks mildly, saying "eee, you are so cute". Hahaha. I thought Smellybutt would have jeling her for such criminal act. But she was Ok. Then the same girl came to me and said "hhmm..I think she's very light. I'll carry her!". I have no time to stop her at all, and my lil Smellybutt already been lifted up. I quickly play along with 2 of them, make some monkey noise and funny face, just to distract Smellybutt a bit. I expect Smellybutt to cry out loud, but again, she didn't...Cool!! Later only I found out that the lady who did a bento demo was the mother for the girl who did the feather weight lifting earlier :P Another funny incident was, Smellybutt tripped and fell on the floor. Don't know how she walk on the carpet lah. I quickly asked her, are you OK? She said this to me "no pain, luckily I got wear clothes ooo". LOL!!

Next, we brought her out to the garden as there were a few bouncing toys available, and I knew Smellybutt would love them. She has played with it before, when she was in the pediatrician clinic waiting for her jabs. She kept saying "dun niao, dun niao" while riding on it. She even refused to get out of the place even though we were all kena goreng under the hot sun.

Her "dun niao dun niao" action

Look at the sweat lah...

Then grabbed this adult bouncing ball and kicked it!

Resting on Doof bean bag - a very very expensive bean bag! Trust me.

@ Desa Park City

We had a great Saturday evening at Desa Park City. This place is just 10mins drive from my mom's house. A week before, we were there at about 7pm and noticed that there were many people at the park, from baby to atuk nenek, an all age park! The weather was perfect too. Quite a windy evening and I saw many beautiful kites in the sky. The playground was jam packed with lots of kids. We let Smellybutt walk around at the field. Boy, she was so happy there! Even observing some kor kor cycling there also can make her smile broadly. I knew that I have to bring her there again the following week.

HubB was in Ipoh, so my sister drove us there. Well, my sister is always my family's driver, anywhere, anytime :P Again, the weather was good. Thank god.

Here are some nice picture of my lil Smellybutt. My sister, the photographer.

The first 3 pictures are my favourite! I had to do some funny faces behind the camera to make her focus on the camera and smile a bit. Hehehe. Kerja belakang tabir lah tu.
Hmm...since Johnson & Johnson is having the Baby of The Year contest again, I guess that I'll pick one of my favourite picture from this album and submit my entry. Wish Smellybutt best of luck this year! (coz last year couldn't win ma)

with Popo and her beloved bo bo!

She loves our driver very much :P

Final agenda of the day was a steamboat dinner and a quick shop at Max Value.

I'm sure that we'll visit the park (and the steamboat restaurant) more often after this!
