Confuse with all the signs....

Today is my 2nd day at home, monitoring myself for the labour signs. I tell ya....it's so hard actually! Yesterday, I have some brownish discharge cum little bit of bleeding. But no pain at all. This morning around 9.30am, also have very minor bleeding, and my tummy did "squeezed up" accompanied by some little pain almost every 8-12min. That only lasted for an hour. After that, apa pun tarak. Just feel the usual baby's movement from time to time.

When I had the pain/contraction feeling this morning, I really can't differentiate whether it was the REAL contraction pain or was it just a sign to go pangsai :P To verify it, I went to the toilet and in the end, nothing happen. Hahahaha. HubB seemed to be more kan jeong than me, as he kept asking me "got pain or not?? want to go see doc or not?? want ar??" Aiseh....I'm still pretty steady, and now he made me kan joeng liao. I really want everything to go naturally....no intention to induce myself although I had been told that 27th Nov 2010, Saturday, is not an auspicious day for me to give birth. With my "super luck" of getting GBS infection (rather than hitting the jackpot from ToTo/Magnum/Da Ma Chai!!!) I want to follow Dr. Tan's advice, i.e. to just continue with my antibiotic and watch out for labour signs. If I still can't deliver yet after I've completed my 6 days antibiotic course, then Dr. Tan will induce me for labour. Ok set!!

Almost 3cm NOW!!

I just came back from my check up. Guess what?? As of today, 23rd Nov 2010 @ 8pm, my cervix has soften, Lil BB has engaged (Dr. Tan said "waaa I can feel the baby's head, heading down already!) and I'm almost 3cm! Wowee!! Dr. Tan said I'm SUPPOSED to deliver by tonight, as he'll help to stretch my cervix to the max. BUT, unfortunately my swab test result showed positive. Meaning I had contacted Group B Streptococcus (GBS Infection) down there =( Heavy growth result some more!! @_@
This bacteria is harmful to both mother and baby. But how did I get it? Nobody knows! Even doctors also can't explain it either.
Thus I was given 6 days course of antibiotic to get rid of it. Sigh.....I can't avoid that antibiotic now, coz if it is left untreated, my newborn will be in extreme danger, and may even lead to death +_+ Some little side effect from taking this pill, that I might get minor diarrhea. But it's Ok, no worries. Dr. Tan even added that minor diarrhea may help me to dilate faster too. Hahaha!
So.....what's next? I'll just have to wait for the time to come. Just watch out for any bleeding sign or contraction pain lah. In the event that I need to go on labour before I have completed my antibiotic, it's Ok. I will be given an antibiotic jab once I have admitted to the labour ward and still can go for normal delivery despite to the GBS problem =) But if this is my first child, the case is different then. According to Dr. Tan, if I'm delivering my first child with GBS infection, it is not advisable to go for natural birth as the chances of passing the bacteria to the infant is very very high. Thus, gotto go for C-section liao.

Geeeezz....it seems like my very first instinct, i.e. early delivery is so true! When I was carrying Smellybutt, she was late by 4 days, so now it is proven that the theory of "if first child is late, second child also late ke lah" is not so true :P I should be giving birth within this few days, the latest will be early next week. HubB asked me to stay at home, don't go to work anymore. But tomorrow I'll go back to the office for a while, to complete a little bit more task and handover some work to my superior lah.

I'm happy and very kan jeong at the same time!! Wish me luck please!

Flower Girl : She did it!

Here's the picture of the lil flower girls who did a good job for my beloved cousin's wedding banquet at The Ritz Carlton Hotel on 13th November 2010. Flower girls were needed twice as they had separate wedding banquet from the bride's family on the following week. Smellybutt wasn't smiling when I snapped this picture. She's always like that, ikut mood.

Me and the lovely bride during the cocktail session

Always got caught with this action :P

Mommies with the flower girls

This is the 2nd round of wedding banquet which we attended last Saturday at Grand Imperial Restaurant, Hartamas Shopping Centre.

Me @ 38weeks 3days tummy :P

That was Smellybutt's very first lollipop!! No idea who was the culprit offering her that forbidden food. I have never offered her sweets, and she yanked this whole piece of lollipop happily that night. The first and the last ya.....no more after this! I don't want to introduce her sweets as I feel that she's still too young for it, and I don't want to deal with any of her tooth decay issue later. Sweets are definitely not healthy for young kids and she may be addicted to it after a few try, so better stop it now. She dislike proper meal so mommy dislike sweets. Even if you take your meal properly, no sweets either :P Moreover, I believe she will have PLENTY of opportunities to have this evil junk food on her own without my knowledge, when she starts her primary school in 4 years time. So what's the hurry of introducing sweets to her? =)

And here's a short video of their rehearsal. Btw, that 2 boys are my cousin's sons too, kakilang =) And Sonia is my cousin's best friend's daughter.

Well done to 4 of them! =)

P/s : notice Smellybutt indulging herself with the lollipop to the max? She refused to let go of it during the rehearsal @_@

My 38th week pregnancy check up

Yesterday I was exactly in the 38th week of pregnancy. Had my check up a night before, after office hour as usual.

I have yet another surprising result that night. When stood on the weighing machine, the reading was 54.5kg. I have gained 1.5kg in 2 weeks time and that was quite a lot for me. And Lil BB weighing at 2.7kg too!!! I know I know....though it was just an estimated calculation from the ultra-sound scan, but still....that was far more than my expectation. She was just at 2.1kg - 2.2kg since 2 weeks ago. Lil BB can really put on weight that much in such a short period of time? Smellybutt's weight was only 2.3kg at birth. Hmm.....maybe my earlier prediction was right, that Lil BB's size would be slightly bigger than her jie jie.

Dr. Tan performed vaginal examination on me, to check whether I have any infection down there, and secondly to check whether my cervix has dilated or not. Luckily it wasn't too painful this time, more to uncomfortable feeling only during the examination. And the result was, my cervix has only dilated 1cm and not even soften yet. So, next week I'll be seeing him again for the same examination. He added that if still not dilated yet, he'll "help" me to dilate faster! I get what he meant @_@ Again, he has advised me to walk more, and squat more to speed up the dilation process. Ok Roger!

During the ultra-sound scan, he said "see, you are having Brixton Hicks now. that's a good sign". Oh yeah, I've started to experience Brixton Hicks since 2 weeks ago. I never had this during my first pregnancy. So this is really something new for me. But yesterday I had it pretty often than usual. And that made me asking myself non- stop, was that the real labour contraction or just some prolonged Brixton Hicks?? Naaah...if real labour contraction, I don't think I would be able to sit still on the sofa and enjoying the TV so much :P

Gosh, my due date is just 2 weeks apart. Time flies!!

When is Mei Mei coming out?

That's the question which Smellybutt has been bugging me lately. To answer her, I've asked her to come nearer to my tummy and get her to "advise" her little Mei Mei this, "Mei Mei, you come out after 20th Ok? We need to attend wedding dinners for 2 consecutive Saturdays (on the 13th and 20th Nov). Some more Baba is very busy with his work, and will only stop traveling until the 20th". My lil counselor did it obediently =) And 5mins later, she asked me again the same soalan cepu mas! Hmmm....then it was my turn to go nearer to her ear and repeat it again to her, what she has just told Mei Mei :P

She does seems to be very eager to meet her Mei Mei in person. Coz I've already assigned her some task which she needs to help me out after I have deliver Mei Mei. Example; bring me some water to clean up Mei Mei after poo poo, help me to change her diaper (say only lah, maybe just get her to bring me the diaper saja cukup!), play and teach her more...all because you are a big girl already and you'll be her Jie Jie! Maybe she feels that, finally she gets to rule someone at home in future. All this while, she has to listen to the adults only ma, so now there's someone who has to listen to her. Hehehe.

Yesterday, she shared something funny with me, which happened in her classroom. Apparently, her buddy classmate TT said to her " you are a small girl". She protested and responded to TT, "No, I'm not a small girl. I'm a big girl. I will become a Jie Jie very soon". LOL!! That was a pretty good answer!! Make sense also huh? ^_^

Anyway, I really hope things will go smoothly and peacefully for all of us after I have delivered Lil BB. I wish Smellybutt and Lil BB clicks well together and I'll try my best not to neglect her when I need to attend to Lil BB more often.

I love you both!!

My 36th week pregnancy check up

The last round of check up was on 13th October 2010, that was 3 weeks ago. Yesterday night when I stood on the weighing machine, it showed 53kg. I only gained 1kg for the past 3 weeks +_+ Very little lah. But Lil BB's weight has increased from 1570gm to 2100gm. So the 1kg extra is being shared quite equally by 2 of us.

Since I've touched the 36th week already, Dr. Tan said "anytime from now". He has advised me to walk more and squat down more! Waaa no way for me to squat down more, coz the urge to give birth is so intense each time I do it. Very scary ler. What if suddenly the baby's head is out? LOL!! If giving birth can be that simple, I wish!

I'll be seeing him again in 2 weeks time. He'll perform an internal check down there, to see whether got any infection or not lah. And to see whether my "smart tunnel" exit is ready or not as well :P Haaaii....the geli part is finally here. I remember that 3yrs ago after I had that internal examination by my previous gynea, I couldn't describe more about the soreness experience after the examination . And I felt like it was just yesterday I had that soreness feeling. Now gotto go thru it again very soon....

I'm still packing my stuff a little bit more for my hospital bag. Also looking for a part time cleaner to do spring cleaning for my house, coz those ice age dust on the grill and window must be get rid off before Lil BB arrives. But my neighbour is renovating his house! Dust will still be accumulated even after a few round of spring/summer/autumn cleaning until the renovation is completed! @_@ Pening kepala liao.....that house next to mine has been empty for the past 5yr, and at this point of time lah somebody bought it and renovate it. Those major hacking and drilling is over, I guess. And please start painting the house NOW, before I start to stay at home for my count down. Unless if you use Nippon Odorless paint....hehehe.

Busy bee weekends

October and November will be a busy month for me. Birthday celebrations all done for my 2 Octoberians VIPs - Dun Dun and Smellybutt. So my upcoming agendas are :

16th October, Saturday (9am~1pm)
Attending a breast feeding talk by Gina Yong at Bandar Utama. It's a sponsored talk, so it is FREE you know! I'm very excited, as this will be my so called "refresher course" =) I didn't attend any breastfeeding talk before I give birth to Smellybutt coz I really didn't have any exposure on BF. And yet I was very determined to breast feed her even before she was born. So what I did was, made countless of phone calls and SMS to Gina for SOS and browsing kellymom.com repeatedly to get some guides and info as well. With that, I managed to sustain my breast milk supply till Smellybutt self weaned off at the age of 16th month old.

30th October, Saturday
Gonna bring Smellybutt to attend a Halloween Party organized by Artworks Art and Craft Workshop. Again, I'm thrilled over this! Last year, we had a fun Halloween Party at my cousin's art centre. Unfortunately, she's not able to host for it this year coz she's very busy with her wedding preparation. So what would be Smellybutt's costume for this year's Halloween Party? I'm up with some DIY costume, will talk about it separately.

6th November, Saturday
It's Sports Day for Smellybutt! She will participate in a competition, i.e. hold a spoon, scoop some water and then fill in the bottle. Of course, there's a funnel on top of the bottle, otherwise the kiddies will not complete this game until dawn :P 3yr old student need not do marching, only 4yr old and above gotto do it. But according to Teacher Nel, 3yr old students will be walking next to the marching team, while holding a pair of pom-pom. Sort of a cheerleader's role for them lah. I did some rehearsal for her at home, for the water game. But this fella overruled it, coz half way practicing, she'll start to pour the water on other places and in the end wet the floor so much. What else...get scolding from me lah.

13th November, Saturday
That would be my beloved cousin sister's big day. Yeah, the same cousin sister that I've mentioned earlier. Wedding banquet will be held at Ritz Carlton Hotel. Smellybutt is the flower girl....and until today, there's no rehearsal for her yet. Cousin said, just go to the hotel earlier a bit and then practice a bit enough wor, walk straight only ma! Hehe. Sounds too simple ha. I really really hope it turns out well lah, don't embarrass the zhu kok couple and me Ok!

I'm so happy and looking forward to each of the above Saturday!

My 33 week pregnancy check up

Had my routine check up yesterday and this round I've gained almost 2.5kg, which was just nice for me, said Dr. Tan. I'm now weighing at 52.1kg with my bulging belly measuring at 104cm. Lil BB's weight has increased, from 1120gm to 1570gm, a total of 450gm increment. Dr Tan commented that Lil BB's growth and weight record is just nice also lah, no worry. Everything was fine, so it was a quick check up yesterday.

Thereafter, HubB and I went to 1st Floor to check out their rooms. They have 3 types of room:

1) plenty of single bed in a room with curtain as partition - RM60/nite. For this type of room, the husband is not allowed to stay back with his wife as space is limited. Mommies without complication after deliver may opt for this type of bed.

2) Family Suite - a nicely furbished queen size bed (those that we use in our own house ya) plus a single hospital bed at RM240/nite. I was pointing at that cozy queen size bed and said to HubB "waa I can sleep on that bed wor!". Then the nurse smiled and said "no lah, that bed is meant for your family, maybe husband and kid. You will use this single hospital bed". LOL!! Dreaming ha...

3) Double Single bed - RM120/nite. There's only 1 single bed for husband to stay overnight plus another hospital bed for the mommy. I guess that I'll take this unit lah. Room is not too small also.

They won't provide 3 course meal, only bread and a cup of Milo drink. We may bring in our own food. That's fine with me. You know lah, hospital food sucks a big time ma. Last time when I delivered Smellybutt at HUKM, Level 7 private sector, the food ar...wuaaaa... @_@

My next check up will be 3 weeks from today. Thereafter will be every 2 weeks. Due date is coming soon and I feel like as if I've just conceived the other day =) Tik tok tik tok.....I'm getting more and more excited!

Oh btw, HubB and I have also decided to keep the stem cells this round. We did the same for Smellybutt too. So here's the kit from Cryocord, which we need to bring to the hospital the moment I've been admitted. But Dr Tan said that they also have a spare kit with them, so in case we didn't bring it on the delivery day, we still can pinjam theirs and thereafter we return ours to them.

Feel so heavy down there

I'm into 31 week now. Tummy is getting bigger and bigger, and as of today it measures 98cm. Lately I feel there's some pressure at the bottom of my tummy. Feels like Lil BB is pushing herself downward. Got such thing ka?

Whenever I laugh too much, I feel like Lil BB is coming out!! Seriously, that kind of feeling really scare me off. I can feel something down there, pushing out +_+ And if I sit on hard surface, say on the floor, for too long, the moment I got up I will have the same feeling too. I don't dare to squad down either ;( Worst case is when I have no choice but to use the toilet without the toilet seat. You know, those need to squad down one...so horrible leh.

It's already end of September....the clock seems to be ticking too fast! My expected due date is on 1st December. Sometimes I will imagine myself in the labor room already, thinking whether the same history will take place or not :P

Ardo Calypso is the chosen one

I really had a super hard time to decide which dual breast pump that I should buy for my upcoming 2nd breast feeding journey with Lil BB. So many new brand available in the market now, with so many new function, accompanied by so many different pricing from different seller.

I used to adore my Medela Mini-E single breast pump. That is my very first and most expensive electric breast pump I've ever owned. Initially, I was using First's Year manual breast pump during my 2 month maternity period at home. It worked very well, and I managed to express 4oz of breast milk on my first try with it! I didn't have much knowledge about breast feeding at that point of time. Smellybutt could latched on easily but somehow I still couldn't breast feed her directly most of the time coz the timing wasn't right. Confinement lady feed her with formula milk, and there goes my opportunity to provide my lil one with fresh and warm breast milk direct from "de pipe" :P Luckily I've managed to contact Gina Yong, a certified lactation advisor who's now a friend of mine, for breast feeding guide. She's awesome! I called her day and night whenever I need help. She was the 1 who advised me to invest on a good quality breast pump if I want to continue providing breast milk for my lil baby. in long run That was when I decided to invest on Medela brand. Her advised was to get a dual pump, for better output result and time saving purpose. But I could only afford for the Mini-E single pump then. The Medela PIS price is way over my budget.

Half way through using Medela Mini-E breast pump, I really wanted to upgrade to a dual pump as I really felt that a single pump consumed a lot of my time. I was still very happy using it as I've managed to provide full breast milk supply to Smellybutt for the first 6mth. After dilly dally with it....to change or not to change....somehow time passed by so fast and I was still using it when Smellybutt already turned 1yr old. Ok, forget about the dual pump lah. I've officially weaned off from the breast pump when Smellybutt turned 1yr old. And Smellybutt self-weaned off from breast feeding at the age of 17 month old. That's the end of my breast feeding journey - a happy ending!

So here it is, my brand new dual pump, Ardo Calypso brand from UK. I almost bought it from the Parenthood Fair at a discounted price, but I didn't as I was still hesitating a bit on the $$. Some how my kiasi sense has actually saved my pocket! Last week, I started to search around from a few online seller, and comparing their prices. Apparently they are still offering the discount for this brand. Different seller offers different discount rate.

Finally I got the best offer from The Baby Loft at RM800 nett for an upgraded set (usual price : RM976. after discount : RM849). I can even get it lower than the after discount price =) Very happy Ooo!! Rushed and bought it from the shop on 15 Sep night coz this great offer is valid until 16 Sept only . What a last minute purchase :P According to the sales staff, this machine works silently, even Ameda which works silently as well also can't beat this brand. Well, expressing breast milk discreetly is equally important to me. My Medela Mini-E pump is so noisy +_+

I was so tempted to purchase Pump' Pal breast shield as well, as I do not want to encounter the same backache again from bending my body front ward a bit while expressing breast milk. Pump' Pal can help mommy to express breast milk while resting on the back comfortably. But the sales staff said not necessary to purchase Pump' Pal breast shield now as Calypso comes with 3 different sizes of breast shield. So perhaps I can try on all 3 sizes to determine which breast shield fits me (or rather my nipples :P) coz the reason why I need to bend down last time was might due to the size of the Medela breast shield not suitable for me.

This brand offers 2 years of warranty, and the best part is, the warranty period will commence based on my EDD, instead of the date of purchase. Their service centre is in Setapak. In case of machine breakdown, I can either send the faulty breast pump to The Baby Loft (TBL) or go direct to the service centre. But best to go direct to their service centre lah coz they will repair it immediately on t
he spot. If thru TBL, I might only get it back after a few days. Calypso breast pump is very light, and is made of BPA Free material too.

Really can't wait to try it!!

at anytime while expressing breast milk, I can still re-adjust the cycles repeatedly to maximize my output

it is also battery operated

My 29th week pregnancy check up

Waaa...can't believe that I'm already into the 3rd semester of pregnancy - 29th week as of 13 September 2010. I'm 7 month pregnant now, with no sign of water retention (yet) but I hope not getting any of it though. Last month I was weighing at 45.9kg and yesterday, the reading was 49kg! Unbelievable! Previous month I only gained 1kg and this month record is 3kg extra. Even Dr Tan also said that 2kg extra is enough for me. Glad that, for once I have so called "exceeded the quota". Muahahahaha.

Lil BB's weight has doubled up again, from 513gm to 1120gm. I've asked Dr Tan whether Lil BB's size is consider too small as of now? He said that not too bad, as long as the baby is growing according to the growth chart, she'll be fine. Furthermore, I'm so petite thus the lil one inside me most likely will follow my petite gene too. I feel that Lil BB is slightly bigger than Smellybutt who was then in my tummy 3yrs ago at this point of time. You see ar, Smellybutt only weighed at 2.3kg at birth. The moment Smellybutt was out of my "oven", she really looked like a miniature Barbie doll! But now at 7th month of pregnancy, Lil BB already reached 1.1kg. 3yrs ago, I was pretty stressed when my gynea told me that Smellybutt's size was too small and that lead to 2 rounds of detailed scan from 2 different woman specialist center. Hope that I don't have to go thru the same worry this round.

Here are some of the important facts given by Dr. Tan, which I need to keep in mind for going through this trimester period safely :

No Chinese herbal tonic
By now, no more Bak Kut Teh, and all those Chinese herbs (dong guai, dong sam, etc) which enhances the blood circulation. This is very dangerous as these tonic will cause excessive bleeding. Even during the first semester gotto avoid such herbs as well.

Start monitoring baby's movement
I was given a few sheets of chart for me to record down the date and time of baby's 10 movement per day. I like this as I tend to forget most of the things lately, big or small matter. So now by putting a small tick on each column will help me to count Lil BB's kung-fu kicks accurately. In case if I don't get the full 10 count of movement from the baby (touch wood!), I gotto refer back to my gynae for a quick scan.

Sleeping position

Best to lye on my left side, or right side but NEVER sleep on my back. This is extremely harmful to the baby. If I sleep on my back, the baby's body will press against my blood vessel and subsequently affect the blood flow from my lower body back to my heart. If this fails, baby will not be getting sufficient blood either. When there's pressure against my blood vessel, my body will automatically give me a signal to roll over to the side to release the pressure. This will happen if I HAVE NOT fallen into deep sleep. But if I'm totally knocked off (accompanied by dreams some more), then I might not be getting the signal from my body to change my sleeping position to release the pressure in my body. So what will happen next?

sleep on your back - pressure against blood vessel - no proper blood flow - baby is not getting enough of blood supply and oxygen throughout the night - next morning baby will not be kicking as usual = This spells d.e.a.t.h!!!

According to Dr Tan, he has seen many cases where pregnant mommy (in 3rd semester) complaint that all of the sudden baby is not moving since early morning, but baby was fine a night before. When checked on the baby's condition, it was too late...baby is dead ;( It was due to mommy sleeping on her back the whole night +_+ Gosh, that was scary man. I have slept on my back few times but not the whole night. I had back pain if I sleep on side way, thus lately I often toss around the bed at night to adjust the pain that I had.

Remember, sleep on your left is the best. The benefit of sleeping on the left side is it allows maximum blood flow to the baby and improves kidney function for the pregnant woman too. And the improved kidney flow will help to reduce swelling. Our liver is on the right side of our body, sleeping on your left will help to keep the pressure off your liver.

So, to all preggie mama....sleep tight and sleep right!

I don't want to be stretched

I mean my skin. Big bulging tummy....with high elasticity skin =) Guess that I should rephrase it as "added elasticity" courtesy of my 1st pregnancy.

Thank God that I only had very minor stretch mark on my tummy from the 1st pregnancy. Not too noticeable if I ter-reveal my tummy some times.

Here's the stretch mark cream I've been using lately. I didn't apply any cream on my tummy during the 1st three month of my pregnancy. Forgotten about it, and by the time I realized it, I have no idea which brand to choose too :P My mom said that I should have start using it from day 1 of my pregnancy, not to wait until tummy grow big big then only start applying all sorts of stretch mark cream. Last time, I bought 1 bottle of anti-stretch mark cream from Watson store. It was Boots brand. I can't find it anymore now. So during my Bangkok trip, my friend asked me whether I need anything from Boots Pharmacy or not. All the products from that pharmacy are either direct from USA or made in Thailand for the USA company, so worth buying as the price is reasonable too. Ok, so I headed to the nearby Boots Pharmacy to 8 on their products. Since I haven't gotten myself any stretch mark cream, I've asked the store assistant for help. Here's what the lady recommended to me.

Brand name is Botanics, and it's from the organic range. It only cost me 310Baht (RM31!!) for a bottle of 150ml. Very cheap lah. They don't have any tester at that point of time, so I only bought 1 bottle. I have tried other brand, which has thick texture. That makes me feel uncomfortable, as if my tummy has a layer of glue. On the same day I bought it, I tried it on after shower. I fell in love with it! Smells good and it absorbs well too, so no sticky feel on my skin. The very next day, I went back to the store and bought another bottle before I fly back to KL =)

Once upon a time, I was an ulat buku

I have somehow stopped reading books when I first started to work. Geezz...I've parked aside my reading hobby for almost 10 years @_@

Now....presenting my latest interesting thick 'novel' from MPH. The ulat buku of mine has started to crawl out recently :P This book really caught my eyes couple of weeks ago. The title of the book, erm...maybe to some of you it may sound a bit sicko, disturbing or gila. But I only have patient to read this kind of book (no matter how thick it is), and also those eerie ghost story book. Forget about love, romantic or scientific stories as they are just not my cup of tea lah. And although I'm pregnant now, don't get me wrong... reading this book is not part of my craving ya. Come to think of it, I don't really crave for anything while being pregnant twice! I know some preggy mama will crave for certain food, die die also must have it. HubB is just too lucky having not to hunt for food or satisfy my crave.

I used to read a lot of ghost story books from The Fear Street series during my secondary school. I don't buy each of it. It was my classmate who recommended me to borrow the book from a bookstore located in Kotaraya complex. I just need to pay a deposit of RM5 for each book. No limit of time to return the book ya. And when I'm done with it, I just need to return back the book to the bookstore and they will refund me RM3.50 So the rental was only RN1.50/book for an unlimited time. Cheap.

" The Murder of Marilyn Monroe" was the first book I've bought. That was during my college time I guess. I love that book, as it contains the picture of the actual scene which took place in Marilyn Monroe's house. And also the conversation between the medium and Marilyn Monroe's spirit. Waaa very nice!

Pssst...even my mom also quite hook on to my new collection. It accompanies her whenever she bakes behind the door. Hehehehe....if you know what I mean :P

Ready to accept mei-mei?

Smellybutt has been giving me very positive feedback, or rather "reaction" whenever I mention about her little mei-mei. At her age now, the idea of sharing is still something against her law. But if I say play with mei-mei or do something with mei-mei in future, she nodded without second thought. Amazing-nya.

Take for example - the spoon. Smellybutt is very obsess with spoon. She has a few of the pink spoons from Baskin Robbin ice cream. We'll get the big spoon when we purchase the ice cream, and we also keep the tiny spoon whenever we ask for flavor testing =). So now I have 2 pcs of each size. The other day, I purposely asked her whether who should get the extra set of pink spoons? She said "for mei-mei lah" ^_^ So glad to hear that. Normally, her default answer would be "all mine! Cannot give other people (especially her 2 little cousin, MM & TT!!)".

On another occasion, I brought her to the bakery shop. She was so happy when she saw those birthday cakes. As usual, she started pointing at every cake and say "this 1 mine, this 1 mine, I want so many so many happy birthday cake!!". Then I overheard her saying "this 1 for mei-mei". Wow, that was really out of my expectation. While being so excited with the cakes, she sempat lagi "allocate" 1 cake for mei-mei too!

She would occasionally ask me and Popo "when is my baby coming out?". Hahahaha HER BABY wor =) And when my sister asked her what would you like to be when you have grown up? She said " I want to be jie-jie". Waaaah I really really hope that she will be a good jie-jie looking after her mei-mei in 4 months time.

I guess that my effort of brain washing her about getting a little sister does pay off! :P

What is your quote about breastfeeding?

ParentThots has posted a request in their Facebook wall. It says "Looking for mothers who have breastfed/are breastfeeding for a quote for The Star. Can you provide a quote here about how you feel/felt about breastfeeding? If you're shy, then just say 'I breastfed. Please message me directly for quote.' THANKS!"

So here's what I've shared with them....

Love your baby, love them truly,
Give them the best, so that they grow healthy and happy,
Breastfeeding is the best we mommies can give,
Breastfed babies are the greatest we can see!

I just can't wait to be back on track!

My 6th month pregnancy check up

3 days ago, I went for my routine monthly check up. I'm now into 6th month pregnancy already. Lil BB's weight has doubled up, from 258gm (last month) to 518gm as of 9th August 2010. But for myself, I've only gained 1.3kg within a month. Now I'm weighing at 44.9kg. Dr. Tan said that wasn't too bad though, at least got some increment for myself lah :) Seriously, I don't really feel like eating round the clock. Hunger never strike as often before. So that explain why I have such slow weight gain.

During the scan, Dr. Tan did mentioned that Lil BB's size was a bit small, but not a problem. Seems like Lil BB inherited my XS size gene too ^_^ I can feel Lil BB's side kick quite a lot lately. According to Dr. Tan, I only need to start monitoring her daily movement when I've reached 28th month. And again, memang confirm lah, STILL a baby girl. Haha. I'm happy as long as Lil BB is fine and healthy.

Kof kOf and KOFFF!!!

And sometimes gotto kaahthuikkk some thick slimy stubborn salty phlegm out too. So, it wasn't really a pleasant Penang trip for me this round. From last Friday until Sunday, my phlegm was greenish, thick and it seemed to be endless after each struggle to spit it out from my poor infected lung. Initially it was just a plain dry cough, but with bad sore throat. Doctor wanted to prescribe me with a 5 day dose of antibiotic. I rejected. Unfortunately, by nite time, the ugly phlegm came knocking the door... I mean my lung. So throughout my Penang trip, I didn't get a single sip of icy cool drink for the oven hot weather. I avoided all sweety sweet food, inclusive my top favourite Aki Pancake! Besides the cough syrup (meant for dry cough only) I kept taking more Lingzhi capsule for that 3 days in Penang. By Monday, my phlegm has reduced tremendously and it wasn't greenish anymore. It turned as crystal clear phlegm (nothing to be proud of anyway :P)

Though phlegm has subsided a lot but the stubborn cough stays stubborn. I still cough like mad (until my lung almost fell off!!) and it would last for 10min, then only I could spit out a very small amount of clear phlegm. Cough too hard to the extend that I will even terkencing too! Yerr...that was really really uncomfortable for me. But I really can't control it. I drink lots of water + big tummy = bladder kena compressed = terkencing a bit!! Gotto change my panty liner very often, and even asked for more pieces from my SIL too ;( This is really the worst cough I've ever had. I loose my voice for 3 days too.If not due my pregnancy, I would have taken Mucoslovan pill, the fast and effective way to get rid of my phlegm.

I have not been sleeping well for the past 3 days. The moment I lye down on bed, I'll start to KoFkOFkofKOFFF non stop. I can't sit or sleep under the fan and air cond. So where should I hide actually?? +_+ It's killing me softly.....

My pure shopping trip @ BKK

My breathtaking trip....no great scenery in BKK though but the cheap baju baju and baju over there! I really shop till my wallet dropped!! And I have also fallen in love with Naraya bags - a very famous brand in Thailand'^_^ They are so pretty and CHEAP! From the outlook of the boutique, it gave me the impression of branded, high class with ceiling high price. But I was so wrong. The bags are of great quality with very cheap price. I went bizarre the moment I stepped into the boutique, and went round and round the shelf non stop. I don't fancy this brand actually, as I got 1pc from my cousin sister last year, as a souvenir. But as soon as I saw the price tag on the bag, immediately became Naraya's fan :P

So here's our journey to the land of Sawadeekaa =)

Our flight was at 12.20pm on 9th July 2010. HubB sent us to KLIA, reached there around 10am. After we have checked in our luggage bags, we walked here and there a bit, snap pictures to kill our time.

An hour before our flight, we had a quick pre lunch at Old Town.

The moment we were on board, Smellybutt demanded to have all her favourite coloring books and color pencil on top of the meal tray. And then the teaching began.... @_@ "Chern Pei Wei, color nice nice!!". This is the worst trip I ever had with this lil monster. She used to behave so well for all our overseas trip, except this 1. When the airplane about to take off, as usual cabin crew will asked us to sit up right and the meal tray must be back into its position. Lil monster insisted to have the tray down with all her stuff on top. The more we asked her to keep everything and sit quietly, the louder she screamed and cried +_+ Really paiseh lor, never in history she did that to us in public. After battling with her for almost a minute, she gave in. Duhhh....such a stubborn girl lah.

When the cabin crew announced that food will be served soon, first thing came into my mind was the yummy Haagan Dazs ice cream! I told Smellybutt to take her lunch first before she could enjoy the dessert. She nodded happily. After the main (yucky) meal, waited and waited...only kept serving more juices/water to the passengers. 10min later, I heard the announcement "cabin crew, prepare for landing". WHAT??? Landing already?? Where is my long awaited Haagan Dazs?? GGgrrrrrrr!!!! Smellybutt even asked me "mami, they forgot to give us ice cream ar?" @_@ I said "yeah, don't know why no ice cream today. never mind, we go buy it from the mall later". I said that just to please her only :P Else she will definitely repeat the same question over and over again.

Upon arrival at BKK airport around 2.30pm, we took a public taxi to CN's office. In BKK, the passenger has to pay for the toll fees on the spot. We paid twice for the toll, total about BHT65 whereas the taxi fare was BHT330. It took us 45min only to reach CN's office. I sms to CN and waited her at the office lobby. She came with her driver and we all kept our luggage bags into the car boot. CN has told the driver to send us to the nearby Central Mall, which was just 10min drive away.

We can shop for about 2hr++, to meet up with CN again after she finished her work. Due to the yucky meal we had in flight, we decided to have another light meal at the food court. They are simple yet delicious!! We bought some cheap baju and cute hair clips from the mall, as warm-up :P

Saw these local delicacies at the mall's centre court. The giant sausage looks disgusting +_+

After dinner, CN brought us to the Naraya boutique and that was where we shopped till the shop closed door. Poor Smellybutt as she was bored seated in her stroller for hours and said "mami, I want to go home". So we left the mall and reached home at about 11pm (means 12am in KL!)

very cute anti-heat hand glove! don't think I'll use it lah =)

here's my collection. still got another small bag not in the pic.

this is the 7 star service apartment which we all adore so much! I didn't take much photo of the unit, so Teacher Nel 'lend' me her copyright here =)

10th July (Saturday) morning, we all got up early for a cozy English breakfast buffet at the lobby. Then we headed off to Chatuchak, a hot steaming tourist attraction market. Certainly not to be missed!! Again didn't take much photo there coz too focused on the stuff there :P

Smellybutt started to be cranky just as we arrived there @_@ So CN bought her a small bottle of orange juice to keep her occupied. That was the most delicious orange juice I've ever had. In Thailand, they extracted the juice from the mandarin oranges instead. That made the juice so sweet, and with lots of pulps too. Only Bht20/bottle.

Had this yummy cooling dessert - coconut milk ice cream at Bht30/scoop with bottomless coconut juice!

We spent 4hr shopping in Chatuchak, with lots of sweats and bargain. Half way thru, Smellybutt behtahan and ZzzZzz with the clip on fan on her stroller.

After that, we moved on to Chinatown and shopped for another 3hr there before we met up with another ex-school mate SK, whom coincidentally was there in BKK for work. What a far far away land reunion for me! SK and I hardly meet in KL, and here we are, having dinner together with CN in BKK.

cute tees from Chatuchak :
froggy and little devil @ Baht60 each, doggy and pussy @ Baht170 each

more bajusss from Chatuchak as well

11th July (Sunday) morning , had our pork burger breakfast at McD. Teacher Nel said must try wor!

So we ordered the Samurai burger set at only Baht60/set, all thanks to CN's service provider for the rebate!

Somebody having orange juice again.....

And fries with tomato sauce...non-stop.

Then we went to Platinum Mall, a place where you can get wholesale price for clothes, shoes and accessories. It was a nice place to shop, coz got air-cond mah :P but Chatuchak offers more designer inspired and unique design stuff. We spent almost 5hr++ there, shopped till lots of goodies bags hanged on the stroller :P

@ Platinum Mall

Food court at level 6, Platinum Mall offers great variety of (small portion) food! Really really small portion, I tell 'ya. No wonder Thai girls are all slim slim lah....

We had Mos Burger for dinner at Siam Paragon Mall, just 1 station away from Platinum Mall. Again this was recommended by Teacher Nel (but she didn't try it at all!!). No regret with the pork burger, it was indeed sooooo yummy! Once upon a time, Mos Burger was in KL before, but it didn't get much supporter, hence tutup kedai liao.

12th July (Monday) morning, CN didn't accompany us anymore as she gotto work. So 3 of us went to Platinum Mall again for our finale purchase and then to Siam Paragon to purchase some Thai local biscuits. We got back to the service apartment by 2pm, packed our stuff a bit and then called for a public taxi to take us to the airport.

It was a fun filled trip for all of us, though we only shop, nothing but shopping! That was my main purpose :P Glad that I was able to shop and walk for long hours non stop despite to my 5th month of pregnancy =) Good Lil BB!!

Sekelip mata saja, we touched down at KLIA around 8pm....how sad =( We almost left the luggage collection area without the stroller. Hahaha busy counting the bags only... :P Don't know when can I re-visit BKK again after this....

Departed KL with red and black luggage bags, came back with 2 more extra bags =)
